Leader, communicator, problem solver

Our Community, Our Future

I volunteered in the district as a room parent K-5 and PTO in elementary and middle school. Most recently, I have served as a volunteer member on the Gahanna Jefferson Schools Master Facilities Planning Committee for the past two years.

My key learnings from this experience:

  • Working alongside teachers, parents, community members, staff and administration helped me become more familiar with the needs of the district, while also experiencing how everyone works tirelessly to support the well-being of our students.
  • Our community needs frequent communication and wants to be part of the conversation about current and future planning.
  • We have a lot of crucial work to do to support our children with facilities that foster hands-on learning, provide the building blocks for innovative programming and create an environment where all feel welcome and supported. I look forward to continuing this work through a Board role as we successfully build our new high school.

Why vote for me?

My background as community member, parent and professional has equipped me with the skills needed to fully lean into the role of Gahanna Jefferson School Board member. My growth through the years with attentive listening skills, leading teams and various workgroups and committees, establishing a variety of communications channels and programs, budget planning, goal setting and measurement provides me experience to carry over into this role.

The welfare of our students should be at the center of all decisions. Our society needs children who become lifelong learners, have the ability to empathize, develop their passions and who have the confidence and excitement to be who they want to be. I am excited to partner with our district to prepare our children for their next chapters.

My Values

  • Empathy - I feel it is important to seek to understand the emotion and perspective in others.
  • Family- the power of family support and love is important to me from my immediate family to my extended family within the Gahanna community.
  • Positivity -  I believe in confronting challenges in a productive manner focussed on remaining calm and being optimistic.
  • Community - we are much stronger together, relying on each other and learning from each other.
  • Goal-oriented - setting goals, holding ourselves accountable to them and measuring the results keeps us moving forward.
