Education, Gahanna and giving back to the community are elements in my DNA. I wasn’t born and raised here, I chose to be part of this community, this neighborhood and I want to be part of this future.
I moved to Gahanna with my husband, Kevin, in 2006 just in time for our twins, Lily and Evan, to start school at Gahanna Lincoln Elementary.
We chose Gahanna as a place to raise our children because we could see a diverse and caring community that takes the time to invest in the lives of their citizens. Choosing to be part of Gahanna 15 years ago is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made as a family. 2021 is a big year for my family; Lily and Evan just graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School and are attending college this fall.
I’ve watched my children thrive, excel and achieve because of the support, care and hard work of the school district.
I have witnessed the power and strength of our Gahanna Jefferson community coming together, thoughtfully investing in future generations. During that time, I was in the role of parent supporting (and in turn receiving support) my children, administration, my children’s teachers, their friends and families. As they head off to college, I would be honored to serve our community in a new role of support as an engaged member of the Gahanna Jefferson Board of Education.
Background/Professional Experience
I grew up in New Jersey and attended college at Ohio University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Communications. I fell in love with Ohio and decided to make it my home for the past 30 years.
I am a proud associate of OhioHealth for 15 years, currently serving as a Director of Marketing Communications. I have a passion for problem solving, transparent communication and creating experiences that bring people together. During the past year my work has focused on well-being projects and programs for our associates to support their mental and emotional health, helping fellow associates overcome the fatigue and burnout brought on by the pandemic.
I have a passion for volunteerism. In addition to volunteering on the Gahanna Jefferson Master Facilities Planning Committee, I volunteer with the OhioHealth Disabilities Awareness Wellness Network supporting inclusive environments and experiences for OhioHealth associates and patients. I had, for several years, also volunteered at the Columbus YWCA including coordinating my team hosting and serving a dinner for the residents of the YWCA Family Center.
